Hey guys, here's something special from us! We had a chat about games and stuff in our first ever episode of the SpreadCast! Here's a brief taste, featuring our piece from the cast about StrixLab's upcoming WW1 horror game, Ad Infinitum! Enjoy!

Death Road to Canada is a fantastic indie rogue-like and describes itself as a Random Generated Road Trip Simulator which is a fantastic description for this game. when you enter the game's title screen you are introduced to a jazz, upbeat, retro music as the screen scrolls across with zombies as far as the eye can see.  The main menu was a grainy, scratchy look that flicks in and out as if you where watching it on an old boxy television, with the options seeming to glitch out and flicker, this all contributes to the games feel and character of a retro game. Before you start your game you can choose your starting charters by either randomly rolling for them or by crafting your own character. Each of the characters have their own pros and cons that can help or hinder their survival in the zombie apocalypse, like being able to shoot better at the start or being a criminal that can steal easily. Nearing the midway point of this years WCS circuit, I thought it would be interesting to have a look at some of the notable names we will be seeing at the grand finals at BlizzCon this year. The Koreans South Korea has always dominated the StarCraft II scene and this year looks to be no different. ByuN is the reigning world champion and currently ranked number 1 according to aligulac. He has consistently been one of the top players since the release of Legacy of the Void in late 2015 and his form hasn’t diminished at all since then. Although he was knocked out in the round of 32 in season 1 of the GSL, in season 2 he has been showing strong performances and it’s hard to imagine not seeing the champion trying to defend his title at the end of the year. StarCraft: Brood War is seeing its first update since January of 2009, that’s over eight years ago. It’s amazing to think that a game with almost no developer support for eight years is able to retain a fanbase that have continued to play for all this time. With this update, there is a lot of excitement from everyone in the scene including a few personalities who haven’t been heard from in some time. There are several talking points when it comes to the newest update, the first of which is that the game is going to be free to play. By adopting this model, it means that anyone is able to play without worrying about the cost or trying to find a cracked version and trying to get it to work on their computer. It will remove any hassle from getting into the game which may cause new players who have never played a game of Brood War before to have a go and you never know, they may end up sticking around and playing it for years to come. It is once again time to delve into #SpookySpread , and take a look at the horror genre. Today, I wanted to discuss my opinion on popular survival horror, Amnesia: the Dark Descent. Amnesia: the Dark Descent  We have discussed before that the distinction between light and dark is essential in horror video games, for a variety of reasons. If the scene is too well lit, and nothing is left to the imagination, you don't have to attempt to fill in the blanks, and wonder if you can trust your eyes. If it is too dark, then you miss vital pieces of information or setting, and the game becomes less scary, and infinitely more frustrating. Which is why it surprises me that there are some video games relying heavily on depriving the player of light, and even punishing you for it. Epic Battle Fantasy 4 is an adventure-RPG made by Matt Roszak. The Epic Battle Fantasy is a series with its roots in flash games and was formally published on Steam in 2014. The specific RPG genre EBF4 aspires to is the format of a JRPG, as it follows many of the predefined tropes of a JRPG like Anime-style characters and battle not being helded in the over world. The Story of EB4 starts off from the last game EBF3. #MobileSpread -Fate/Grand Order Upcoming English version I'm sure many of you have tried / is  playing the Japanese version or at least heard of this game. For those who do not know yet let me introduce the game. Fate G/O is role playing video games based on the series with the same title. The original Japanese version was released on 30th of July 2015, published by Type-Moon. F/GO is considered one of the most successful role-playing mobile game, it has been downloaded over eight million times.  Some of the key staff members are Kinoko Nasu as supervisor, Yuichiro Higashide and Hikaru Sakurai as writer and Takashi Takeuchi in charge of character design and art direction. Wow, the weeks sure fly by, as yet here we are again with a new title to look at under this weeks #IndieSpread! This past weekend saw the first ever major Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament take place in Sydney. With some of the top teams taking place including Astralis and SK Gaming, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to see some top-level counter-strike live. The crowd during the second semi final between Astralis and FaZe Clan Day 1 – The Semi-Finals The first match of the day saw the Brazilian team SK Gaming take on the last remaining team from North America, OpTic Gaming. Going into this series SK were overwhelming favourites and unfortunately for OpTic fans, they showed why. The Brazilians put on a dominate performance in game 1 on train taking it 16-1. There isn’t really too much to say about this game as SK were able to do whatever they wanted and OpTic had no answers. Horror games, much like other genres, are filled with various tropes. Things that are common, and that you would expect to see in a horror game.
